Interpretations Pending 2017
Having been invited to make works for an exhibit of historic and contemporary mangle boards, I chose to make three works: a mangle board, a retable (alter piece), and a small run of linen tea towels. The exhibition, SMOOTH: Mangle Boards of Northern Europe & Contemporary Concepts, April 21 - July 22, 2017, was at the Center of Art in Wood in Philadelphia, USA. A short documentary video was made of the exhibition, showing the work and explaining the form of the mangle board.
